In need of Transportation

Hello, glad to meet you all. I started working at age 16 and worked steady until 2005.  I have tourrets syndrome, seizure disorder and OCPD. I was born with these, but what the heck, I wanted to work, get married, have a family, an acre or two of land and a nice home.  I achieved my goals, got married, adopted a beautiful baby boy, bought some land and a modist home.  I didn't want to be different from anyone else, yet I am.

The older I get, the harder it is on me. I take a cocktail of 12 prescriptions a day to stay off the tourrets and seizures. That runs about 700.00 per month.  By mid 2005, I was completely drained and just couldn't go on.  I had enough points to get my SSD, with a few points left over. My medication bill went to 1,000.00 per month.(I do get some help from the drug companys, to help defray some of the cost.)

Within a year I had gone thru my retirement money, my sons' college money, lost my beautiful little Ford Escort, my home and land. I still had my wife (who works for a Dr's office), my son, and my mother-in-law(on SSI).  I was homeless.  Thank God my household posessions were paid for.

A local church knew of a lady to owns several homes and I was able to move in with no money down.  We lived nearly a month with no electric only water and sewer. I still felt blessed.  I had my family! I have good days and bad days as far as my health, and my medicare and supplement helps alot with the Dr. visits.  My worst problem is getting to my appointments. I can drive and have a safe driving record...No tickets.

I am praying that someone, who lives in the Tampa Bay, Florida area could help by donating a small car or truck or letting me make reasonable payments on one.  I miss my little Ford, but that is the way things go sometimes.

I have the will to go back to work, but not the health and I'm really not getting any better.  The people I worked with over my 30 plus years never made me feel like I didn't belong.  Only people who didn't know me gave me a hard time. But that is to be expected.

I help out with the Leona 4-H club, volunteer 5 hours a week at Hospice and make and sell crafts at local flea markets.

If there is anyone who can help me with getting and nice used, not too old car, I would sincerely appericate it.  I have tried never to be a drag on the system, I just am no longer able to work and keep my body somewhat healthy.  I'm asking for help so I can continue to help others.

Thank you for reading my post and my need.  May God keep us all safe.
